Applying to Google. Or just stealing food.

Recently a few friends of mine have applied to Google - without letting me refer them. It makes me cry inside. :-(

So, I'll make the following statements:
  • If I know you (or you know someone I know), and you want to apply to Google, send me your resume. I'll submit it for you.
  • If I don't know you, you're welcome to send me your resume anyway. If your resume looks good, I'd have no problems referring you. No promises though :-).
Also, lunch!
  • If you know me or anyone I know: Yes, we have free food. It's tasty and free for guests as well. Join me!
I'm in the Google office in Seattle/Kirkland. Email address is at the bottom of the page. Hope to hear from you soon :-)

Do you think a employee reference would be any better than going through the career website ? apart from typing in the profile details over and over again ?
I have got a call from Google couple of times but never have gone beyond the 3rd ph screen. Also, what I hear from the recruiter that I cannot apply for the same position withing a year, chances are, not just me but a lot of people who are pretty good to loose interest.

I am going to apply for a media coordinator postion. I have never applied to google before and currently i am in radio.

The job description for that job wasn't very technical. I am very passionate about the internet and "new-media." I would love to get into Google and grow into all of that stuff.

I do have a lot of media experience, service experience (Verizon Wireless) and I am passionate and hungry to learn and work.

If you are still updating your blog and you read this please contact me. I would love to get your opinion on my resume etc..

Thanks!

I am interested in Google, but there's just a form application process, without a human to contact. After the application is submitted, what if a recruiter never gets into contact? Is there a person to follow up with? Where should one send an email? How long should it take for someone to contact you?
